The new website was redesigned to mirror Hedy’s new package designs (also designed by the other orange), allowing Hedy to present a single brand to their customers.

The updated product page, showing Hedy's full range of products in an easy to navigate grid. Each of these products can also be accessed using the navigation system from any other page of the website.
The original Hedy website was built using nothing but basic HTML and a large number of images, including an entirely image based navigation system and was only available in English.

The new SACYHN website featuring a massively simplified navigation system, search field, large and colourful images and significantly more white space.

The original SACYHN website was built nearly 8 years ago using nothing but basic HTML, making updating the site extremely time consuming.
The SACYHN website was built in the early days of the internet using nothing but basic HTML and a design that, while appropriate for its time, became dated as web technology changed.
Starting from scratch, we engineered a brand new navigation system that took into account the large number of pages on the site, ensuring that users would be able to find the information they needed as efficiently as possible. And the addition of a search function made finding information even easier.
The look of the new SACYHN website had to take into account its wide audience of parents and medical professionals. To ensure continuity with the old SACYHN website we took many of the old design features and evolved them into a modern website.
Redesigning such a large and well used website required a significant amount of planning to ensure that users would still be able to find the information they used on a daily basis. We also took the opportunity to update every piece of information on the website

“There’s a great story about Pablo Picasso. Some guy told Picasso he’d pay him to draw a picture on a napkin. Picasso whipped out a pen and banged out a sketch, handed it to the guy, and said, “One million dollars, please.”
“A million dollars?” the guy exclaimed. “That only took you thirty seconds!”
“Yes,” said Picasso. “But it took me fifty years to learn how to draw that in thirty seconds.”

A screenshot from the main page of the imagineCALGARY website...
When The Other Orange built the original imagineCALGARY website it was relatively simple, containing a lot of text plus links to download PDF documents and a client produced monthly newsletter.
Since then the number of web pages has grown significantly, as have the needs of the client. The Other Orange has worked closely with imagineCALGARY to update their website to meet their new project goals.
- A complete site map and navigation system overhaul, plus the addition of a search feature, has made it massively easier to find information on the site.
- We replaced the monthly downloadable newsletter with a custom-designed interactive (and search-engine friendly) version. An email version of this newsletter is distributed to over 1,500 subscribers on a monthly basis using a customized version of the open source software phplist
- A video section was created which has allowed the client to produce and distribute short video clips of their partners discussing the imagineCALGARY project. This section has become one of the most popular sections of the website.
